«Las vidas de Miguel de Cervantes» is Andrés Trapiello's biography of Cervantes, published by Planeta in hardcover (259 pages, in Spanish).
The book starts from an idea: Cervantes had several lives, including those he never got to live, those he lived and are unknown, and those attributed to him since his death. Trapiello contrasts the image of an old, failed writer with the illusion of seeing him laden with honors, and places this reflection in its historical and cultural context.
The book belongs to the Memoria de la historia collection (no. 82) and to the Personajes de Planeta series, and includes an index.
A read for those who want to delve into the figure of Cervantes and Spanish Golden Age literature.
