«Benzina» is the novel by Quim Monzó, published by Quaderns Crema in paperback (224 pages, in Catalan).
On January 1, Heribert, a celebrated artist, wakes up feeling that everything around him has become distant and unjustifiable; he no longer feels like painting. Monzó portrays his apathy, the infidelity of Helena —his wife and gallery owner— and the clumsy bond with a teenager, with irony about fame and contemporary life.
Volume 8 of the Biblioteca Mínima collection. Second edition revised by the author, published on June 10, 2005.
For readers of contemporary fiction and Catalan literature.
