«Berts intime Katastrophen» is the young-adult novel by Anders Jacobsson and Sören Olsson, published by Oetinger Verlag in hardcover in German (157 pages).
In his diary, thirteen-year-old Bert humorously recounts his attempts to impress girls while dealing with the conflicts of puberty: parents, acne, and his own blunders. To get closer to Paulina, with whom he is in love, he even considers joining her ballet group.
It is an installment of the Bert series; translated by Birgitta Kicherer, with the original title «Berts första betraktelser».
Aimed at young readers who enjoy comic situations of puberty and teenage diaries with a light-hearted style.
