«Bestiari» is the satirical poetry collection by Catalan poet Pere Quart, published by Proa in paperback (59 pages, in Catalan).
The work draws on the medieval bestiary to describe animals that serve as metaphors for society and the human condition. The poems combine irony and wit to point out flaws, contradictions and absurdities of the contemporary world, while Xavier Nogués's illustrations accompany each text and reinforce its caustic tone.
Joan Oliver i Sallarès, also known by his pseudonym Pere Quart, was a Catalan poet, playwright, literary manager, translator, narrator, and journalist. He is considered one of the most important twentieth-century writers of Catalonia.
