«Brûlée vive» is Souad's testimony, published by Oh ! Éditions in paperback (245 pages, in French).
At seventeen, Souad falls in love in her village, where love before marriage is punished by death. Dishonored, her family appoints her brother-in-law to carry out the sentence: he douses her with gasoline and sets her on fire. Souad miraculously survives and tells her story to denounce honor killings, which leave thousands of victims every year.
Originally published in 2003; the text is written in French and the paperback edition has 245 pages.
