«Buenas noticias» is the essay collection by José Luis Martín Descalzo, published by Planeta in paperback (251 pages, in Spanish).
The volume brings together a selection of articles, some previously unpublished, that José Luis Martín Descalzo wrote for his columns «Cara y Cruz» and «Ni guerra ni política» in the daily ABC. In them he champions ordinary people who sustain the world without appearing in newspapers or on television, and contrasts their everyday heroism with the noise of politics, with a hopeful and believing outlook.
The subtitle is «Reflexiones esperanzadas y optimistas de un hombre que transmitió mucho amor». This is the 5th edition, originally published in 1998 in Planeta's Testimonio collection.
For readers interested in Christian spirituality and in the journalistic article as a hopeful reflection on everyday life.
José Luis Martín Descalzo (1930–1991) was a Spanish priest, journalist and writer. A prolific author, he published more than 50 books in a wide range of genres - novels, short stories, plays, poetry, as well as numerous volumes of essays. He won the Premio Nadal for his novel La frontera de Dios.
