«Caballería roja» is a collection of short stories by Isaak E. Babel, published by Bruguera in hardcover (202 pages, in Spanish).
A Jewish intellectual serving in the Red Army witnesses scenes from the Polish-Soviet War of 1920. Cossacks, officers and peasants experience the violence and chaos of the front; Babel combines horror, irony and a critical eye to explore the dehumanization of conflict. It is a classic of twentieth-century Russian narrative.
It is volume 89 of the Club Bruguera collection, with a translation by José Laín Entralgo. The work was published in 1981.
It is recommended for readers of Russian literature and short fiction with a wartime and historical background.
