«Carta a la reina d'Anglaterra» is the young-adult novel by Vicenç Pagès Jordà, published by Editorial Empúries in Catalan in paperback (128 pages).
Joan Ferrer, a man approaching a thousand years old, reviews his long existence and sees in it a harsh and unjust sentence. So he writes a letter to the Queen of England, in which his life parades from the Middle Ages to the threshold of the third millennium, amid pleasures, illustrious acquaintances and love for many women. It is a parable about immortality that advances through the centuries to one of the most surprising endings in recent Catalan literature.
Work from the L'Odissea collection. Paperback edition of 128 pages, published by Editorial Empúries in 2001 and originally written in Catalan.
Suitable for young readers and for anyone wanting a short novel about immortality, with an accessible tone and a standout final twist.
