«C'è un cadavere dall'avvocato» is the crime novel by Michael Gilbert, published by Polillo in paperback (284 pages, in Italian).
In 1950s London, a corpse appears in a locked trunk at the firm Horniman, Birley & Craine: it is a client strangled with wire. Henry Bohun, a young lawyer, takes on the investigation. The plot is a fair-play mystery, with irony and a satirical look at postwar England.
The work is the fourth entry in Michael Gilbert's Inspector Hazlerigg series, originally published as «Smallbone Deceased» in 1950. Translation by Stefano Bortolussi.
Aimed at fans of classic British crime fiction, especially golden age mysteries.
