«Cinco contos sobre Velázquez» is a book of short stories by five authors, including Daniel Nesquens and Eliacer Cansino, in paperback (144 pages, in Galician).
Five Spanish writers each take a painting by Velázquez as the starting point for a story: portraits such as that of Innocent X and scenes like Las Hilanderas or El aguador de Sevilla form the backdrop to very different tales, woven with respect for the Sevillian master.
The book belongs to the 'El Árbol de la Lectura' series and was published by Oxford University Press España in 2010.
It is aimed at readers aged 14 and over interested in Galician literature and Velázquez's painting.
