«Cinco cuentos sobre Velázquez» is a book of short stories by Daniel Nesquens, Eliacer Cansino, Xabier P. Docampo and Xosé Antonio Neira Cruz, in paperback.
Five Spanish authors imagine a story inspired by works by Velázquez such as Inocencio X, Las Hilanderas and El aguador de Sevilla. The paintings serve as a starting point for varied stories: a tormented young painter, a copyist with an unexpected commission or a reflection on the craft of writing. Each tale approaches the universe of the Sevillian master from a different perspective.
It belongs to the 'El Árbol de la Lectura' collection from Oxford University Press España and consists of 152 pages in Spanish.
Aimed at young readers aged 14 and over, with an interest in literature and Velázquez's painting.
