«Circo Máximo: La ira de Trajano» is the historical novel by Santiago Posteguillo, published by Editorial Planeta in paperback (1224 pages, in Spanish).
It follows Marcus Ulpius Trajan at the head of the Empire, amid wars, conspiracies, loyalties and impossible loves. A vestal virgin, a trial, coded messages, gladiators and chariot races appear. The flame of the Temple of Vesta protects Rome, but on some nights it trembles: the wheel of Fortune turns and a plot threatens the emperor.
Volume II of the Trajan trilogy, published in 2014. The edition includes the unpublished text «Trajano y Decébalo en la Rumanía del siglo XXI».
