«Cocodrilo» is the illustrated album by Antonio Rubio and Óscar Villán, published by Kalandraka in hardcover (14 pages, in Spanish).
Cocodrilo offers a game of visual poetry in which the animal protagonist is built from poetic pictograms: simple, recognizable illustrations on light backgrounds, accompanied by a short, rhythmic text. The whole combines Óscar Villán's artisanal work with the musicality of language to educate the young reader's eye and ear.
Fourth title in the «De la cuna a la luna» collection. The illustrations are by Óscar Villán, National Illustration Prize 1999.
Designed for babies and children aged 0 to 3, it is a first approach to poetry and suitable for reading aloud.
Antonio Rubio Pérez was a Uruguayan journalist and politician.
