«Con las mujeres no hay manera» is a crime novel by French writer Boris Vian, published by Alianza Editorial in paperback (143 pages, in Spanish).
Francis, Gaya's childhood friend, is pushed into action when she announces her wedding to a stranger: the fiancé supplies her with drugs, belongs to a gang, and doesn't like girls. To protect her, Francis ventures into a world of fights and deceit. A detective novel with Vian's provocative style.
«Con las mujeres no hay manera» is the fourth installment in the Vernon Sullivan series; its original title is «Elles se rendent pas compte». Translated by Josep Elías. Alianza's Libro de Bolsillo collection.
For those who enjoy detective fiction and twentieth-century French literature.
Boris Vian was a French polymath who is primarily remembered for his novels. Those published under the pseudonym Vernon Sullivan were bizarre parodies of criminal fiction, highly controversial at the time of their release owing to their unconventional outlook.
