«Escupiré sobre vuestra tumba» is the crime novel by Boris Vian, published by El País in paperback (141 pages, in Spanish).
Written originally in 1946 under the pseudonym Vernon Sullivan, this novel follows Lee Anderson, a black man with a white appearance who plans revenge against the white racists who killed his brother. The rawness and violence of the story caused scandal, prohibition, and prosecution of Boris Vian.
First installment of the Vernon Sullivan series; original title: J'irai cracher sur vos tombes (1946). Translation by Jordi Beltrán.
For readers of crime fiction and twentieth-century French literature seeking a transgressive classic.
Boris Vian was a French polymath who is primarily remembered for his novels. Those published under the pseudonym Vernon Sullivan were bizarre parodies of criminal fiction, highly controversial at the time of their release owing to their unconventional outlook.
