«Contes à l’envers» is a collection of parodic tales by Boris Moissard and Philippe Dumas, published by L’école des loisirs in paperback (144 pages).
Humorous rewritings of Grimm and Perrault tales: a feminist president, a blue Little Red Riding Hood who locks her grandmother in the wolves’ cage, and a boy whose tears turn into cigarettes. Dumas and Moissard update settings and language to pay homage to classic stories through parody.
Text in French. Dumas and Moissard wrote these parodies around 1980; this 2019 edition belongs to the Neuf en poche collection from L’école des loisirs.
Recommended for readers aged 8 to 12 who want to rediscover classic tales with an ironic and contemporary eye.
