«Contes per telèfon» is Gianni Rodari's collection of children's stories published by Editorial Juventud in hardcover (144 pages, in Catalan).
A little girl can't fall asleep without being told a story, and her father, who travels for work six days a week, calls her every night to tell her one over the phone. The tales are short, imaginative and full of humor, so charming that even the switchboard operators interrupt their calls to listen.
The work belongs to the collection «La hora del cuento»; the Catalan translation is by Teresa Duran and the illustrations are by Jordi Saludes.
For the little ones and for adults who enjoy children's literature with humor and imagination.
Giovanni Francesco "Gianni" Rodari was an Italian writer and journalist, most famous for his works of children's literature, notably Il romanzo di Cipollino. For his lasting contribution as a children's author, he received the biennial Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1970. He is considered Italy's most important 20th-century children's author, and his books have been translated into many languages, though few have been published in English.
