«Contes traditionnels des Pyrénées» is the collection of traditional tales by Michel Cosem, illustrated by Sourine, published by Milan in paperback (166 pages, in French).
The volume brings together popular stories from the Pyrenees, from the legend of Jean de l'Ours to that of the beautiful Pyrène and other tales from the region. It features beings and landscapes of the Pyrenean imagination: bears, wolves, peaks, lakes, torrents, glaciers and mountain spirits, in a narrative that evokes the oral tradition of the men who told these stories from valley to valley.
The work is part of the Mille ans de contes collection from the publisher Milan. The text was selected and adapted by the author, with illustrations by Sourine. Published in 1991.
Suitable for child and young adult readers, as well as for those who enjoy folklore and mountain tales.
