«Crónica de esa guapa gente: Memorias de la jet» is Francisco Umbral's chronicle of the Spanish jet set, published by Planeta in paperback (323 pages).
The author builds a collective portrait of the families who, in his view, dominated Spain at the end of the 20th century through money, influence, sex, or fear. In his usual style, he parades famous high-society figures and offers anecdotes, revelations, and reflections on power and fame.
First published in 1991, it belongs to Planeta's Documento Collection, no. 298, and includes photographs.
For readers of memoirs and social chronicle interested in the Spanish jet set and the power of the upper classes at the end of the 20th century.
Francisco Alejandro Pérez Martínez, better known as Francisco Umbral, was a Spanish journalist, novelist, biographer and essayist.
