«Cuentos» is a selection of short stories by Ignacio Aldecoa, published by European Schoolbooks Limited in paperback, in Spanish.
The stories portray Spain in the 1950s through humble, anonymous characters: men and women marked by the postwar period, sad and resigned, sometimes bitter and sometimes tender. Together they serve as a testimony to an era and reveal Aldecoa's gaze toward the losers and everyday life.
Selected and edited by Josefina Rodríguez de Aldecoa, the author's wife.
Suitable for level 3 Spanish students and for readers interested in the Spanish postwar short story.
José Ignacio Aldecoa e Isasi was a Spanish writer. He was the nephew of the painter Adrián Aldecoa.
