«Cuentos de Navidad y Reyes» is the storybook by Emilia Pardo Bazán, published in paperback by Libros Clan A. Gráficas (162 pages, in Spanish).
The stories set at Christmas and Epiphany portray a society of extreme contrasts: alongside the most ostentatious wealth appears abandonment. Their protagonists embody charity, reconciliation and mystical devotion, attitudes that seem unusual outside those dates.
The edition includes illustrations by Marina Arespacochaga and belongs to the collection Cuentos de Autores Españoles.
Emilia Pardo Bazán y de la Rúa-Figueroa, Countess of Pardo Bazán was a Spanish novelist, journalist, literary critic, poet, playwright, translator, editor and professor.
