«Cuentos en verso para niños perversos» is Roald Dahl's collection of verse tales, published by Alfaguara in hardcover (32 pages, in Spanish).
Roald Dahl retells six classic tales in verse with twisted humor and surprising endings. In his version, Snow White is the boss of a gang of gambling dwarfs, Little Red Riding Hood collects wolf-fur coats, and the big bad wolf tries to blow up the three little pigs' house with dynamite. Quentin Blake's illustrations accompany the work.
Translation by Miguel Azaola Rodríguez-Espino. Original work in English: 'Revolting Rhymes'. Published in 2001.
Recommended for readers aged 10 to 12 and, for its irreverent humor, also for adults.
Roald Dahl was a British author of popular children's literature and short stories, a poet, screenwriter and a wartime fighter ace. His books have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide. He has been called "one of the greatest storytellers for children of the 20th century".
