«Cuestión de amor propio» is the novel by writer Carmen Riera published by Tusquets Editores S.A. in paperback (88 pages, in Spanish).
Àngela, about to turn fifty, recalls a love affair that was hasty and fueled by flattery; disenchantment turns it into a «cuestión de amor propio» and leads to a bitter game of recriminations with her lover. The novel dismantles the idealized image of literary circles, among congresses, prizes and foundations.
The novel was published in May 1988 in the Andanzas collection. The original title of the work, in Catalan, is «Qüestió d'amor propi».
Recommended for readers of contemporary Spanish fiction interested in love relationships and in the critique of literary environments.
