Inspector DeKok investigates the murder of a wealthy elderly man and his wife; the accused, Igor Stablinsky, shows a latent violence that makes DeKok doubt his guilt. The clues lead to one of the last great mansions in the Netherlands, where a strange family, unsettling geese and a sinister house hold the answer.
