«Dernier inventaire avant liquidation» is the literary criticism essay by Frédéric Beigbeder, published by Gallimard in paperback (233 pages, in French).
The book starts from the list of the fifty books of the twentieth century chosen in 1999 by six thousand readers from a shortlist by FNAC and Le Monde. Beigbeder comments on each title with irony and subjectivity, without renouncing enthusiasm: from Nadja to number one, The Stranger, through Lolita and Bonjour tristesse, among other works.
French edition from Gallimard's Folio collection.
For readers interested in French literature and ironic revisions of twentieth-century classics.
