«Detrás del cielo» is the crime novel by Manuel Rivas, published by Alfaguara in paperback (216 pages, in Spanish).
A group of six hunters prepares at dawn for a drive in the mountains, bound together by friendship, lust for power and economic interests. Their target is a legendary wild boar known as the Solitario. Dombodán, the youngest of the group, narrates the day and reveals the tension, violence and frustration that build up, as well as the social and natural predation that prevails in Tras do Ceo.
The work is part of Alfaguara's Narrativa Hispánica collection. Manuel Rivas received the 2024 Premio Nacional de las Letras Españolas for this novel.
Ideal for crime fiction readers looking for a story with social depth and a defense of nature.
