In 'Political and Sentimental Diary', Francisco Umbral offers us a book open to life, full of familiar faces and stories that intertwine as in a novel. Through its pages, the author takes us by the hand on a personal and social journey, where luminous youth meets decadence and death. Umbral, with his prodigious exercise of memory, presents us with habitual characters from a unique perspective, elevating the diary genre to a higher category. An intimate, public and deeply revealing book about the Spain of his time.
Francisco Alejandro Pérez Martínez, better known as Francisco Umbral, was a Spanish journalist, novelist, biographer and essayist.
