«Die Königin der Farben» is the illustrated children's story by Jutta Bauer, published by Beltz in hardcover (64 pages, in German).
Malwida, the queen of colors, summons Blue, Red and Yellow according to her mood, between calm, energy and warmth. A quarrel with Yellow turns the kingdom gray, and only colorful tears restore harmony. With poetic language and expressive illustrations, the story presents colors as a mirror of emotions.
The original work dates from 2001; this edition is from March 2004. The book has been adapted for film, music and children's theater.
Suitable for early readers and for working on identifying and managing emotions in the early childhood classroom.
Jutta Bauer was a German writer and illustrator of children's books. She received the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 2010 for her "lasting contribution" as a children's illustrator.
