«Me importa un comino el rey Pepino» is the children's novel by Christine Nöstlinger, published by Salvat in 1987 in paperback (136 pages, in Spanish).
King Pepino, a tiny green sovereign with a crown, settles on a family's sofa and revolutionizes their routine. With humor and fantasy, the novel recounts the coexistence between this monarch, a man with glasses and two children, and the absurd situations that arise when a king wants to rule a household.
Biblioteca Juvenil de Salvat, no. 30. Original title: Wir pfeifen auf den Gurkenkönig; translation by María Jesús Ampudia and illustrations by Werner Maurer. Won the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis 1973.
Aimed at children and young readers; a story with a character as peculiar as King Pepino for those seeking a different read.

Christine Nöstlinger was an Austrian writer best known for children's books.
