«Die Patin» is Kerstin Gier's humor novel, published by Bastei Lübbe in paperback (316 pages, in German).
The novel inverts the idea of the godfather: Constanze, blonde, toughened by raising a teenage daughter and a small son, is hopelessly in love with Anton, a city lawyer. As «la Patin» of the secret Mütter-Mafia, she uses feminine weapons against scheming supermoms, unfaithful husbands and custody parasites.
Second installment of the Mütter-Mafia saga, originally published in 2006.
An option for readers of romantic comedy with a female protagonist, humor and everyday conflicts taken to the extreme.
Kerstin Gier is a German author of novels for adults and young adults. Her popular young adult novel Rubinrot and its two sequels – a series about time travel – as well as her Silber trilogy were translated into English by Anthea Bell.
