«Diez cartas a Montaigne: el "uno mismo" y el "otro"» is the essay by Jüri Talvet, published by UJA Editorial in paperback (168 pages, in Spanish).
In ten letters to Michel de Montaigne, the Estonian poet Jüri Talvet converses with the Renaissance thinker. He examines the relationship between the "self" and the "other" and how the other (linguistic, social, racial and cultural) is positioned at the beginning of the 21st century. Skeptical of human progress, he highlights the growing role of women in history.
Published in 2022, it belongs to the Estudios Literarios collection of UJA Editorial and falls within the literary essay and the philosophy of aesthetics.
For readers interested in the literary essay and philosophy, particularly in debates on identity and alterity.
