«Dones catalanes llegendàries» is a collection of legends about queens, countesses and heroines by Joan Soler i Amigó, in paperback, 144 pages, in Catalan.
It brings together the legends of queens, countesses and heroines from Catalan popular memory: ingenious, cunning, warrior women, saints, witches, nuns, courtesans, unhappily married women, pilgrims, rulers and those influential in politics. They escape the passivity and submission imposed by patriarchal society, outside the domestic sphere.
First edition published in December 2010. Volume 27 of the Popular Llegendes collection from Farell Editors.
For a general audience interested in folklore, popular legends of Catalonia and stories of women who defied established roles.
Joan Soler i Amigó was a Catalan writer and teacher.
