«El almirante Carrero» is the biography of Luis Carrero Blanco written by Carlos Fernández, published by Plaza & Janés in paperback (284 pages, in Spanish).
The work follows the career of Luis Carrero Blanco, the «eminence grise» of Francoism and Franco's right-hand man for three decades. Using archives, newspaper libraries and testimonies, Carlos Fernández portrays a contradictory figure: for some, more Francoist and authoritarian than Franco; for others, the one who paved the way for Prince Juan Carlos's succession.
It belongs to the Biografías y memorias collection and corresponds to the first edition, published in 1985. Includes bibliography.
For readers interested in the political history of Spain, Francoism and biographies of key twentieth-century figures.
