«El árbol de los abuelos» is a children's story by Danièle Fossette, illustrated by Claire Legrand (Edelvives, paperback, 47 pages, in Spanish).
Malika prefers to hide what her grandfather Karamoko is like, an African blacksmith who tells fascinating stories. When the class is asked to make a family tree, she fears her classmates will discover that world. However, her grandfather's stories will make her feel proud of her roots and value family and cultural differences.
Part of the Ala Delta collection - Red series, number 2. Translated from French by M.ª Isabel Molina Llorente; original title: L'arbre à grands-pères.
Aimed at early readers aged 5 to 6, it helps address the value of roots and bonds with grandparents at home or in the classroom.
