«El bisonte mágico» is the young-adult novel by Carlos Villanes Cairo, published by Planetalector in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
The novel interweaves two stories separated by thousands of years but united by the cave paintings of Altamira. In 19th-century Santander, María Sanz de Sautuola tries to help her father, the discoverer of the cave, discouraged by scientific rejection. In the Paleolithic, Rek, a sensitive and misunderstood young man, leaves his art on the cave wall.
Recommended reading for young people aged 9 and up, aimed at those interested in prehistory and cave art.
