El diablo cojuelo es una novela picaresca del escritor español Luis Vélez de Guevara, publicada en 1641. La obra narra las aventuras de Don Cleofás, un estudiante que libera al diablo Cojuelo de una redoma. En agradecimiento, el diablo lleva a Cleofás a la torre más alta de Madrid y le muestra los secretos de la ciudad. Juntos viajan por España, visitando Toledo, Sierra Morena y Córdoba, donde conocen a personajes pintorescos y descubren curiosidades. Finalmente, el diablo Cojuelo salva a Cleofás de una persecución y regresa a los infiernos.

Luis Vélez de Guevara was a Spanish dramatist and novelist. He was born at Écija and was of Jewish converso descent. After graduating as a sizar at the University of Osuna in 1596, he joined the household of Rodrigo de Castro, Cardinal-Archbishop of Seville, and celebrated the marriage of Philip III in a poem signed Vélez de Santander, a name which he continued to use until some years later.
