«El dragón de Jano» is the children's story by Irina Korschunow, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (72 pages, in Spanish).
Jano is a boy who suffers his classmates' mockery for being chubby; that insecurity affects his studies and his games. One day he draws in the sand and the drawing comes to life as a small dragon. From the friendship between the two is born a story about self-esteem, overcoming challenges, and the value of friendship in defeating prejudice.
This work is number 24 in the El Barco de Vapor Azul collection; the original German title is «Hanno malt sich einen Drachen».
Story recommended for readers aged 7 to 9, especially useful for working on self-esteem, friendship, and acceptance of differences.
