«El duel» is the novel by Giacomo Casanova, published by Proa in 1993 in paperback (90 pages, in Catalan).
Casanova, narrator and protagonist, arrives at the court of Warsaw and witnesses the dispute between two opera buffa dancers over the leading roles. His attempt to remain impartial by applauding both sides triggers the consequences that shape this tale set in the eighteenth century.
