«El espejo ciego» is the novel by Joseph Roth published by Acantilado in paperback (104 pages, in Spanish).
Fini, an office clerk in 1920s Vienna, lives with a possessive mother and a father crippled by the war. Her marriage to an older man disenchants her, and only the arrival of the revolutionary Rabold restores her hope, which soon fades. With irony and lyricism, the novel parodies the Viennese serial.
Translation by Berta Vías Mahou. Belongs to the Cuadernos del Acantilado collection. Edition published in 2005.
For readers of interwar European fiction and stories about Viennese life.
