«El gremio de los magos» is the fantasy novel by Trudi Canavan, published by Debolsillo in paperback (448 pages, in Spanish).
In Imardin, the Guild's magicians carry out an annual purge to drive the outcasts from the streets. Sonea, a young woman from the slums, throws a stone at them and pierces the protective shield, knocking down a magician. The Guild thus discovers that an untrained mage exists whose uncontrolled power could be a threat to the city, and sets out to find her before it is too late.
First installment of the trilogy «Crónicas del Mago Negro», originally published as «The Magicians' Guild» in 2001. Edition translated into Spanish by Manuel Viciano Delibano.
For fantasy readers who want to start a trilogy set in a class-divided society and with a protagonist with hidden magical power.
