It is the year 1943 and the Japanese army controls Shanghai, establishing a Jewish ghetto. Leon and Norah Blumenthal, Jews who arrived in 1939, are confined there, but they have the help of the Spanish consul, Dr. Martín Niboli, who faces the head of the Japanese secret police, Colonel Fukuda. In a plot of fears, passions and betrayals, the life of the city is revealed, from nightclubs to marginal neighborhoods, opium dens and brothels. Perfumed Cloud, a sex slave, plays a key role. Emilio Calderón presents a fresco of occupied Shanghai, seductive and dangerous.
