«El mundo» is Juan José Millás's autobiographical novel, published by Booket in 2008 in paperback (240 pages, in Spanish).
The narrator, tasked with writing a report about himself, ends up overwhelmed by his memories: his father's electromedicine workshop, the street, the Vitaminas. The novel covers his childhood and adolescence in postwar Madrid and reflects on memory, identity, and writing as a form of healing.
Winner of the Planeta Prize 2007 and the National Narrative Prize 2008. This Booket edition includes an illustrated dust jacket.
For readers of contemporary Spanish fiction and autobiographical novels set in the postwar period.
Juan José Millás is a Spanish writer and winner of the 1990 Premio Nadal. He was born in Valencia and has spent most of his life in Madrid, where he studied philosophy and literature at the Universidad Complutense.
