«El Padrino» is Mario Puzo's novel about the New York mafia, published by B de Bolsillo (Ediciones B) as a paperback (608 pages, in Spanish).
El Padrino tells the story of Vito Corleone, one of New York's most respected crime bosses, and his son Michael, heir to an empire built on fraud, extortion, gambling and union control. Rather than portraying the Mafia as a simple gang of criminals, the novel presents it as an organization with its own culture and hierarchy, where loyalty, honor and violence coexist.
Originally published in 1969, it belongs to the El Padrino saga. This paperback edition was released on March 10, 2010 and is part of the B DE BOLSILLO collection.

Mario Francis Puzo was an American author and screenwriter. He wrote crime novels about the Italian-American Mafia and Sicilian Mafia, most notably The Godfather (1969), which he later co-adapted into a film trilogy directed by Francis Ford Coppola. He received the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the first film in 1972 and for Part II in 1974. Puzo also wrote the original screenplay for the 1978 Superman film and its 1980 sequel. His final novel, The Family, was released posthumously in 2001.
