«El petit avet» is the children's story by Maria Eulàlia Valeri, illustrated by Montserrat Brucart, in paperback (La Galera, 24 pages, in Catalan).
A fir tree prefers its short, pointed leaves to ones of gold, glass, or a leafy crown like that of the park trees. The story turns that choice into a tale about accepting oneself and valuing what one has.
It is part of the La Sirena collection (no. 10) and its first edition was published on January 28, 1992.
Aimed at children up to 6 years old; the short text in Catalan and the illustrations make it suitable for the youngest.
