«El poble dorment» is the illustrated album by Rébecca Dautremer, published by Baula in hardcover, with 60 pages.
Two characters, one with a prince-like appearance, walk along a path with sleeping animals and reach a city where even a street sweeper, some boxers, a king and a queen are asleep. It is a reinterpretation of Sleeping Beauty without the usual visual codes, playing with the reader about a hundred-year sleep.
It belongs to the «Àlbums» collection by Baula. Translated from French by Pau Joan Hernández i de Fuenmayor; the original title is «Le Bois dormait». Recommended reading age: from 10 years.
Recommended for a children's and young adult audience, especially those looking for illustrated albums and reinterpretations of classic tales.
