«El preu de ser catalans» is the essay by Patrícia Gabancho published by Editorial Meteora in paperback (248 pages, in Catalan).
The book asks whether Catalan language and culture, after a thousand years of history, will withstand the pressure of Spanish and the appeal of the global English market. Patrícia Gabancho holds accountable those who have contributed to the decline of Catalan, including those who stay silent, and proposes measures to prevent its extinction in the twenty-first century.
It belongs to the Cronos collection, number 8. First published in 2007.
For readers interested in Catalan language, culture, and identity debate.
