«El romance de los clonados» is the novel by Miguel de María Luque, published by Biblioteca Nueva in paperback (272 pages, in Spanish).
The narrative starts from an everyday idea: faced with absurd situations, anyone misses Don Quixote. Miguel de María Luque imagines that Cervantes himself clones his hidalgo and Sancho Panza and moves them to the 21st century, where they try to right wrongs in a current large Spanish city, with mixed results.
Published in 2002, it has ISBN 84-9742-083-7.
For readers of contemporary Spanish fiction and for those who enjoy updated versions of Don Quixote and its characters.
