«Ella, maldita alma» is the short story collection by Manuel Rivas, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (150 pages, in Spanish).
Each story in this collection imagines a different form of the soul, from a loaf of bread to an electric guitar called Sirena, via a parrot or a swarm of bees. With irony and surprise, Manuel Rivas tackles the age-old question of where the soul dwells and its presence in everyday life.
The work was originally published as Ela, maldita alma; this 2000 Spanish edition includes translation and notes by Dolores Vilavedra.
For readers of contemporary literary short fiction and followers of Manuel Rivas's short narrative.
