«Ena, la novela» is the historical novel by Pilar Eyre, published by La Esfera de los Libros in paperback (500 pages, in Spanish).
Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg, wife of Alfonso XIII and granddaughter of Queen Victoria, grew up in straitened circumstances and ill health. Marrying the king did not save her: she was scorned by her husband, stifled by her mother-in-law and rejected by the court. The novel reveals her intimate side: humor, a taste for luxury, frustrations and her difficult relationship with Spain.
It belongs to the Vintage collection from La Esfera de los Libros and went on sale on February 19, 2013.
For readers of historical fiction interested in the Spanish monarchy and the figure of Victoria Eugenie.
