«Enquanto o Meu Cabelo Crescia» is the small children's novel by Isabel Minhós Martins, published by Planeta Tangerina in hardcover (28 pages, in Portuguese).
It tells the story of Mila, a hairdresser who knows how to interpret her clients' wishes and surprise them with amazing image changes. When a small tragedy shakes the salon, everyone must learn that some changes are not chosen and that sometimes accepting them is part of growing up.
Illustrated by Madalena Matoso; this edition includes an audio CD with the narration and music by Sérgio Pelágio.
Aimed at children and young audiences, it is a good starting point for talking about identity and change with the little ones.
